Winding Down

Greetings to everyone. OSCEs were fun. It was a lot of work, but interesting to see what everyone looked at and how things are set up and evaluated. Believe it or not, I like the scheduling thing. It's like a puzzle or computer game and I really enjoy that type of stuff. The convention was fun. I loved seeing Carol get her award. Tears were close, but this week I was able to control myself!!! It was fun to see all the dental and dental hygiene students walking around. Looking forward to our last 2 classes...can't believe this semester is almost over.

OSCE

Late night greetings to everyone! I think my OSCE is finally complete. Kim and Cooke are always a hard act to follow, so please be kind.... I'm excited to work on my day sheet. I'm still confused about QAs--any help will be appreciated. Back to work on Wednesday's presentation...Calgon-take me away!

OSCEs,Protocols, Clinical Skill Assess., etc.

I zonked out after church this morning so I am scrambling to get my lit reviews read for my class. They are anxiously awaiting grades. I worked all day yesterday on my rewrite of my protocol, OSCE layout and updating my Clinical Skills Assessment. It's getting so busy at the end of the year-especially with a graduating senior. PP is getting busier so I will have even less time to get my work done. It is wonderful to have the house open and some fresh air to revive myself! Happy Easter!

Greetings ladies! It's been too short of a weekend! I spent all of today grading the Sophmore "osce" from my class. I still have 5 more students to go, but I just couldn't listen to one more discussion on self-care! I did grade 5 literature reviews. Yea! I need to look into some more errors for my osce and I have so many ideas for a QA (thanks to Kim!). I will probably need more help in the future to make sure I still have the right idea.... I don't know which was is up right now. After that beautiful snow this morning and then we're right back to Spring---I guess the weather is as confused as I am!

What a great day! I set up my "office" in the corner of my dining room so I can look out the windows. I just hope I won't be looking at too much more snow. I spent all day trying to get myself organized--what a paper collection I have! Good news! I may have a contact from another school! Hopefully, I'll have some info by the end of next week--in time for next week's Blog. Althou' I don't want to give out too many trade secrets on this space. Working on the OSCE-now I will sit on it for a couple of days and see if it makes as much sense on Wednesday as it did yesterday. I think I have a good idea about the OSCE schedule for all 3 radiology stations. It's only a guess, but at least it's a start. Have a good evening-see you tomorrow!

CC Patient Managment

Greetings. I am, once again, trying to connect with someone at another school to help us with this info. I have contacted 4 schools so far and no replies. I think I'll just try to do my own research on the topic unless I hear from someone by Monday. P.S. I finally took my tree down!

IERC

Hi everybody! I know that most of you are involved in the OSCE with the IERC or have done it before, but you are welcome to watch the sophomores test their skills on Mon, Mar 9 at 8:30. It's always interesting. I enjoy all this technology, but it is overwhelming sometimes. I am in 3 classes that use online technology and although it is wonderful to work from home, sometimes it can be time consuming for us "older folk." I hope as my teaching career continues I can become more comfortable with everything I have learned and will need to learn in the future.
